Alright kids. It's a new month, and I've got a couple questions for you.
You've seen a couple interviews now, so you sort of get how they're formatted. Are there other questions you'd like to hear me ask people? Are there certain topics that I've not covered that you're interested in? This goes for the blog in general, too: What are some sexy topics that you want to read about?
I have a second question. Since day one I've been struggling with the decision to put naked people in the blog. Not as its own feature, but, if my fancy strikes me, posting NSFW (Not Safe For Work) pictures and links. What do you guys think? I certainly talk about NSFW stuff, but never post any explicit pictures, or even link to much that's explicit. How do you feel about me adding this in? Do you read this at work, and wouldn't continue to if you couldn't? Have you been desperately waiting for me to ask you this so you could say "yes, please, more nudity and sex!"? These are the things I want to know.

i read at work, so not having anything obviously nsfw for the computer monkeys who monitor our internet usage is very handy.

ReplyDeleteI'd like it if the interviews made their way into the more forbidden territory that the rest of the blog goes. The interviews are interesting to read, but they don't inspire conversation the way the rest of your posts do.
I kind of like the sfw vibe, and I see Chris's point, but I think your sex blog could be a bit more... sexy? I don't think we need junk all over the place, but I'd be fine with more links.
ReplyDeleteInterviews could be more focused and maybe even blended with your own musings on a topic. For example, "Zach and Bob Sit Down and Talk Role Playing" could be one section of a post on the topic.

More short posts with a link, poll, photo, fact, quote, etc. To tide us over between longer posts.
More interviews period. I like 'em, and I'm not just saying that cause I did one.
More sexy sex.
More context, examples, narrative, etc. By this I mean, augment these theoretical conversations in a context occasionally. Where are you now? What is the culture like there? Why is that? What are people doing, and how do we feel about it? This blog doesn't need to be diary, but it'd be fun to occasionally pull in some localized examples or anecdotes.

Marissa and I were discussing first orgasms the other day, and it seemed like a topic that could make for some interesting and varied responses. It's in a elusive, awkward category of sexual experiences that aren't generally that sexy at all, but rather kind of mystifying and surreal. I guess a lot of early sexual encounters share that same color. These seem particularly intriguing because they grow constantly scarcer as we get older.
